The building replaced some temporary modular buildings that had been utilised to commence the expansion. The building was designed with toilets, an evacuation lift and Group Rooms. The building was finished externally with brickwork to the ground floor and Trespa panels to the first floor. The roof of the building supported a 180m2 PV array and the external works incorporated a SuDS solution of surface cascade ponds to attenuate the surface water run-off.

The project achieved BREEAM Very Good. John left Enfield shortly after works commenced on site and Capital were commissioned by Enfield so that the project could be completed under John’s stewardship.

The project demanded that the existing school remained fully functional throughout the construction.

John Wilkinson, Associate Architect at Capital fulfilled the role of Project Architect up to Stage 4 and then took on the Project Management and Client Technical roles.

Grange Park was a two storey modular building solution to provide a 1FE expansion with an internal connection to the existing school that was complex due to a sloping site and the need to find a SuDS solution.
