Capital was commissioned by The Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea to undertake measured surveys and the preparation of plan layout drawings for sixty-three residential dwelling blocks to provide Premises Information Box (Fire Safety) records.
Following a number of coordination meetings Capital were provided with the full address list for the various blocks and developed a master spreadsheet highlighting all the blocks and geographic areas.
Capital’s Director, Richard O`Reilly, developed a programme for the delivery, based upon geographic area and RBKC priority. The works Started during the summer of 2020 when COVID was at its peak.
Capital was given ‘key worker status’ due to the urgency requited to deliver these important works. We developed key processes to keep both our staff and members of the public safe during our inspections, particularly where we had to obtain internal access.

We had three dedicated teams working through the Kensington & Chelsea over a period of four months undertaking inspections. A separate team working remotely, from home, drew up the plan to the National Fire Chiefs Code of Practice. As we were aware of impending cyclical works to the blocks, we suggested that our drawings go beyond the basic line plans, but instead we provide much more detail that could be used for specifications at a later date.
Despite access issues and changes to COVID plans, the programme was largely delivered on time and fully met the client’s requirements.
