Capital was appointed by the University of Westminster (UoW) to project manage the refurbishment of the Department of Architecture. The department had markedly increased in the last few years, while studio space had declined by 40% through the conversion of studios to other uses. The consequent lack of studio space was the Department’s greatest cause of student dissatisfaction

The brief was to improve the space by providing a modern feel reducing the flow of Students away from the UoW to study elsewhere.

Capital was appointed as the Employers Agent and Project Manager and was tasked Delivering a multi-million pound refurbishment within an occupied building to a short programme.

  • Defined the brief with the end users and students.
  • Developed and implemented a phased programme of works on a rolling basis.
  • Administered the Contract from Commencement to Final Account
  • Communicated with various user, neighbours and third party rental spaces.
  • Produced weekly look ahead reports
  • Oversaw the Post Occupancy Evaluation
